Great bass for headphones. The microphone is good for making calls. Very comfortable.

These Altec Lansing Comfort Q+ headphones come in a large round zipped case. Inside is a body-mounted pocket for storing the 3.5mm cable, charging cable and splitter. (Use a splitter to connect it to a non-Bluetooth PC) The case is decent and holds the headphones when folded. They don't fold very tightly, so the case is a bit larger than I expected. The sound quality is pretty good. The bass is actually very good. I always play a test bass song with very low tones and most of the time the headphones can't even reproduce those tones. In fact, they reproduced even the lowest frequencies quite well. If you do this for a long period of time your ears will likely hurt, so I only did it at a low volume. The highs and mids sounded pretty good too. For a minute I thought they might sound as good as my Audio Technica ATH-40 studio headphones. I made a comparison and studio benches sound better. (Studio headphones are more expensive, they're wired only, and not very portable.) The Bluetooth headphones sound pretty damn good. I've also used them with Skype for several meetings. Everyone said I sound good. The only thing that's a bit odd about using them for Skype is that they block background noise even with noise cancellation turned off. I can't hear my own voice, which takes some getting used to. Excellent passive noise cancellation. (Headphones don't let through outside noise) Active noise cancellation doesn't seem to improve the noise cancellation of headphones much. In fact, I couldn't figure out the difference between ANC on and off. If there is a difference, it is not big. I just left it out. The headphones talk to you when you turn them on and off, which is nice. The ear pads are soft and comfortable. The headband feels comfortable and has a soft cushion at the top. They put a little pressure on the ears, but not too much. Left and right aren't marked, but it's pretty obvious where they go. (how they fit the ears) They look funny when worn backwards. Most of the materials appear to be of good quality. If something breaks, it's the headband. In general, I like them very much. I leave them paired to my computer for Skype meetings and they can take me with me when I travel. case is a bonus.

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • Non-Automatic

Excellent sound. I'm still getting used to the volume control.
