Fast delivery, well packed and well built appliance

UPDATE: Just before the 1 year warranty was up the hinge broke. I contacted the manufacturer through the ebay site. They responded quickly and had me sent some photos. They covered it under warranty and quickly sent me out a full set of hinges that I installed myself as I had requested. This was a great experience. I have seen some negative reviews and those people only needed to contact the seller and I am quite sure they would have taken care of the problem. I did purchase the extended warranty and would recommend that to all if you feel this is a major purchase you want to last many years as I do.I received the freezer in 2 days packed and shipped nicely with no damage. I let it set over 8 hours after unpacking to make sure not to damage the compressor since we never know how it was handled during shipping. Any time you lay a refrigeration appliance on its side to transport it you need to make sure to let the oil drain back down to prevent damaging to the compressor. I plugged it in and set the temp to -4 F it only took about 30 minutes to drop from 70 F, quite impressive! I really like the appliance and only time will tell but it seems to be well built, runs very quiet. The interior light and control panel are very nice. The only thing I feel could be improved is calibrating the temperature. You have to adjust it in 3 different temperature ranges and the instructions only list centigrade temperatures, I will have to take the time to convert them and try to calibrate it better. The manual states nothing about the separate compartment but I found that even with the main compartment set at -4 F it was about 40 F so you actually have a freezer and refrigerator at the same time and though I am using it as just a freezer now I can see the benefit of having that area at a different temperature for foods that you do not want too cold. Overall I feel it is a great product and probably does rate closer to 5 star across the board but there are areas for some improvement. I just hope it is reliable and continues to work for many years since it is for me an expensive investment. I will be using it for extra storage in my RV so it will see a lot of rough roads and temperature extremes in my travels. I definitely took the extended warranty to make sure.
