Review on 😎 Polarized Perfection: Suncloud Zephyr Sunglass for Ultimate Sun Protection by Brent Porter

Good sunglasses but not the best alternative

I needed sunglasses for long car rides. I'm used to a pair of Ray Ban Aviators which I've had for over 14 years and are still in great condition. They were too heavy for long days on the road because they dented my nose, so I went in search of a "sport light" alternative. Of course, Oakley came to mind first, but with the price tag in the $150 range, I thought it might be worth trying a few alternatives suggested by the likes of Suncloud. After wearing glasses for a few days I have a few issues compared to what I'm used to at the higher end. The rubber nose piece tends to stick to my nose and needs to be adjusted frequently to stay comfortable. Polyethylene lenses are decent, but they don't look like they'll hold up for years of everyday use. Lens color is not something I look forward to seeing the world. It washes everything out rather than keeping the natural look of colors while reducing the amount of light like Ray Ban does. It may differ from other lens colors. The frame has play between the lens and creaks when adjusted. Finally, the glossy black finish is wavy at the bottom due to the molding process. Overall, this is a nice mid-range set and definitely better quality than what you would buy off the counter at a drugstore. They are not an alternative to more expensive brands, as some reviews suggest. After a few days I think the price of $40 for a pair is a bit high that I'm not so sure they will last more than a few months. I'd rather buy a $5-$10 disposable pair for that kind of lifespan. Now I'm back in the market for a pair that lasts as long as my Ray Bans, and this time I'm paying more for them.

Pros
  • lens width x nose width x temple length (in mm) = 72 x 11 x 121 - includes microfiber cleaning/storage pouch
Cons
  • compatibility
