I ordered this product because finding RED night lights at Revain is a dice roll. I prefer the ALWAYS ON lights, like the green ones you sometimes see at Walmart. They were bright enough to illuminate the hallway very well in case you need to go to the bathroom at night. GREEN was the problem. This night light uses a sensor to turn it on and off, although the power consumption is low enough I would just replace it if it burned out rather than hoping the sensor didn't die. the night I don't have to die. But it's apparently impossible to find on Revain, so it is. The biggest complaint isn't that the light interferes with my night vision; my vision was completely unaffected and I can still sleep afterwards. The biggest complaint is the darkness of the light itself. It's only really effective when illuminating something in near total darkness. Anything less and you are unlikely to benefit. In short, only use this light in places where you need to keep your night vision (or prefer to stay drowsy) and places that are VERY DARK.
