We have large sliding windows on the 5th floor that cannot be reached from the inside. Because some sliders overlap when open, it's impossible to reach all of the outer surfaces of some windows unless they're all closed, meaning there's no way to remove them from the inside. This product is perfect for our situation. We opened the windows just wide enough to thoroughly wet the exterior surfaces, went to the outer half of the unit around the outside of each of the windows, aligned it with the inner half, and then closed the windows so there was no overlap between the windows . slider. With this system, we could use the device to clean the entire surface of all windows one by one. Use the provided microfiber cloths and the finished product will be pretty good. Not as ideal as being able to access the entire window inside and out with a professional window cleaner, but we don't have that option. Some key tricks we learned: 1. People complained that the device cracked or damaged their windows as the magnets pulled the two pieces together on the glass. DO NOT allow the two pieces to approach from opposite sides of the glass. So people have broken windows and blamed the product. Place the outer half against the glass, then place the inner half against the glass at least 8 inches apart. Then slowly slide them together across the glass until they fit together; Thus there is no impact on the glass. THIS SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS as it would easily prevent the broken window problems that people have been experiencing. 2. Learn how to mold clear glass into the correct S shape. Some video reviewers didn't know how to do this during their demos, even though the instructions mentioned it would leave streaks. 3. Hold the indoor unit by the base while moving it around the window. If you hold it up, which is more natural, the indoor unit may tilt and loosen the magnetic connection. Loosening the magnet connection in this way is another common reason for complaints and should be addressed in the instructions. 4. When making back curves in your S-pattern around the edges of the windows, take the time to keep a close eye on the edge of the frame. If you hit the frame, it can hit one of the halves hard enough to break the magnetic connection. Sometimes I would disconnect on one set of magnets, but the other set would always hold until I could align the split set. 5. We bought a more expensive D4 model that has the ability to adjust the strength of the magnetic connection for perfectly working with different window thicknesses and the number of double-glazed windows in the window. This makes a huge difference and as some of our windows are single paned and others are double paned with plenty of space in between it is important for us to match the unit to the type of window we are cleaning. If you have different types of windows, pay attention to them. 7. We have 8 large windows. By the time we got to the last window, the microfiber towels had started to smudge the dirt a bit. Going forward we will only make four windows at a time and then wash and dry the microfiber clothing before making more windows. Alternatively, you can just buy more clothes so you can change them at work if they get dirty. Besides better guidance, I would suggest two other improvements to this wonderful product: 1. In our case, the lifeline is too short. In order to cover all of our largest windows we had to do without it and added a longer cord at the end. Luckily so far so good. 2. The hook and loop fasteners on the ends of the microfiber towels are not sewn perfectly, so the seams may appear loose after just one use. Just take a look.
