Sony is a great brand that makes quality electronics. I have used blank Memorex 6 hour cassettes in the past and they are NOT available. The picture is a lot blurrier than it should be, they get stuck every now and then and I haven't seen an EP that lasted more than 6 hours. TDK is ok, better than Memorex that's for sure, but make sure you're getting superior quality; Don't skimp, your records will pay for it. It's pretty retro at the moment, but they're great for recording TV shows from your DVR, so you can free up some hard drive space. I do that all the time. 8 hours is great and depending on the playback/VCR (I use a Sony DVD/VCR combo) some units can record OVER 8 hours total as mine currently does in EP mode. The sound is always clear and this is the best picture you can get from a VHS cassette. Do yourself a favor and join us!
