I have a Tokina for Nikon 50-135mm telephoto lens with tripod base. The collar holding this leg has 3 screws to hold it in place: they all fell out rendering this great lens unusable. The Tokina store in California couldn't help me as this classic was discontinued. I took my lens to camera shops and jewelers - nobody had the screw I needed. Through trial and error I found that the 1.6 x 4mm mounting screw in this area is exactly the screw needed to mount it. This time I added a drop of Locktite 222MS screw lock to keep the screws in place. I now have 597 tiny screws that I can't imagine, but the $12 I spent on a set is a lot cheaper than finding and buying another (used) $699 lens.
