Holds my phone in place and doesn't hum when properly set up. I have it on a Ninja 500r and it fits snugly but has worked with some persistence. I'm not sure what the little red pen means. The spinning outer shell vibrates like crazy as you drive, creating a buzzing noise louder than you'd believe a tiny piece of plastic can handle. It also requires a tool to adjust the tightness, which is more fiddly than I originally thought. Just use another thumbscrew, which is pre-installed, easy to adjust and won't bother you. My only complaint is that you install it with locknuts instead of hex wrenches, which is fine, it just takes a little more work to secure everything in the tight spots. If you're riding a cruiser or something with a lot of free handlebar space then this isn't a problem.
