Sometimes iPod headphones just don't help. I've been looking long and hard for a "boombox" to complement my iPod video. The iM7 proved to be the best value for money and when I got it I was blown away. In particular, I have a jazz tuba album that I love. It was good through headphones, but great thanks to the iM7's strong, smooth bass. I couldn't think of a better test. I like the battery or mains plug option and bought 8 D cells + charger from Revain which saved me a lot of money (8 alkaline D cells are expensive and only last 10 hours.) D nickel metal hydride rechargeable elements - Elements make ecological and economic sense. Potential buyers should be aware that the functions of the remote control are limited. To access all functions, you need to control the iPod yourself. The instructions for the iM7 are brief and do not explain any strange behavior e.g. B. Why the iM7 sometimes remembers the last song you played on the iPod before you insert it and sometimes defaults to the first song in the library and starts playing the entire library. . Altec Lansing technical support via email was unable to explain this. They said to send the device. However, I didn't do it as it may just be a design flaw. The tech support I got was pretty basic, but at least they were reachable and willing to offer some sort of solution. For those who are easily frustrated by imperfect retail, there was a strange incident related to my purchase of the iM7: the first one I received was an open-packaged product. It worked fine but the styrofoam ear tips were badly broken and the US adapter plug was missing. I tried to get just a tiny adapter plug but Revane didn't make it. I've tried it on a battery in the meantime and found that it's a "Keeper". It sounded great. I ended up having to send the entire product back just to get a tiny US plug for the power adapter. Revain sent me a brand new one. The new one had an adapter but it didn't really look new, it looked like a demo model. I live in the Virgin Islands where delivery is cumbersome and expensive. I decided to just keep the device and enjoy it. After all, it works and is fully guaranteed. The iM7 does exactly what I wanted it to do: fill the room with big, rich sound from an iPod that runs on both battery and AC power. And Revain works with me if there's a problem until it's fixed. That's why I go to Revain in the first place when I buy something online.
