I'm writing this because someone gave them 1 star for being so long! LAUGH OUT LOUD. For me they are just right, see photos. 2 bikes, far enough to put the pedals away but not too far. Very strong. Exactly what was promised. Edit: I'm editing my review to say I didn't use the screws that came with it to install. These were expanding drywall anchor screws and I don't think the drywall in my house would be strong enough. So I installed them into the studs with a couple of screws. To hang any bike with this or any other hanger I would recommend bolting - so yes the other reviews are correct the choice of drywall screws is a poor choice on the part of the manufacturer. You can buy a pair of wood screws at a hardware store for less than a dollar.
