Review on 🖥️ Dell S2721D: Ultra Thin DisplayPort Certified QHD2560X1440P Monitor with 75Hz Refresh Rate, Built-In Speakers, and HD Clarity by Michael Massey

I went with the Amazon option to repackage the box into an Amazon box (rather than a Dell box with pictures of what was lying around). Good decision. The Revain box was dented pretty badly, but the Dell box was undamaged. No tools were required to assemble the stand. If you have a shaky desk, your monitor will shake too. Simple solution: Stabilize the table. Ready to use HDMI cable of good quality and length. PC audio/video is crystal clear. The screen's anti-glare coating works great (bright windows behind my chair aren't a problem at all). For your PC or MAC, be sure to download and install the Dell Display Manager software. Once installed, it's easy to make adjustments to your display settings. Smooth and simple. There's no need to press the bottom right buttons on the edge of the case (although they're labeled, you'll need a light source to see the engraved labels on the front of the display). Really user-friendly menu of the Display Manager software as well as a choice of different brightness settings. Lots of useful presets to choose from. The power button is in the lower right corner closer to the edge. Poke up gently and you turn it on or off. Tilt it down 5 degrees and up 21 degrees to work gracefully. The stand is pretty solid. Just make sure that when you put the two pieces of the stand together and use the built-in twist-screw handle, make sure the twist-screw handle is inserted completely flush with the surface so it doesn't slip out and scratch your desk. Understandable but worth mentioning. True 2K resolution at 75Hz works flawlessly. There are no bad pixels on the screen. I read that some people had issues that looked like bad pixels, but they replaced the USB-C to DP1.2 cable with a better one and those issues went away. An HDMI to HDMI cable is included. USB or USB-C to DisplayPort 1.2 is not compatible, so you need to order it separately. Get a good one, not a cheap one. As soon as my cable arrives in a week, I can connect both the iPad Pro M1 and the Thinkpad. You can then check the monitor's capabilities (should be able to detect when one is on and the other not, and switch automatically). The Display Manager software also has presets to split half the screen for side-by-side apps. It's a neat trick when you're working with two apps, but I like being able to make things more flexible and manually adjust app windows. Will try an HDMI adapter on my iPad Pro to see how video streaming looks on this Dell monitor. If I don't update this review it's because everything works as intended. There isn't a display monitor app for the iPad Pro yet, so I have to use the buttons to make changes to the settings to stream video to the monitor. 2K resolution is absolutely sufficient to work with a PC, Mac or iPad. crystal clear. I wear reading glasses (x2.0) and it's clear enough to read a lot without glasses. I've read that people who buy 4K monitors get fonts that are too small to read, so they still end up downsizing [to about 2K]. So if you're not a high-end gamer or thin-editing artist, this 2K monitor (QHD) offers good value for money. I don't know why Revain doesn't show the actual part number of the monitor. S2721D but that is the part number for this Dell monitor. S2721D is very similar to S2721Q. I can't find the S2721D in some menus on the Dell website but when I went to download the drivers and software it was there! It is listed as new on the Revain website and available as of March 2022. However, shipping to Dell began in 2020. So that's just another typo by Revain (or whoever put it up for sale through Revain). Would I buy more? At the moment, yes. But you need to check how it works with DP1.2 from iPad Pro M1 2021, how the streaming looks and how the sound sounds (speakers are pretty basic, low volume, more for video games, beeps and the like).
