Review on Yaesu Original FBA-39 AA Battery Case for VX-8R Series (Fits 3 x AA Batteries) - Belt Clip and Screws Included by Jason Hayes

It's beautiful and does what I need. If my lithium batteries die or I am in a remote location (camping etc) I can use 3 AA batteries to power my radio. The battery life isn't great, of course, but in fact we're talking about an alternative power source. My main problem is that it's too expensive. I can get aftermarket replacement lithium for less than the price of this case without batteries. Yes, I knew this before I bought it, but I'll point it out to others who are looking at it and considering their options. I ONLY bought this for the alternate power option. If I had to do it again I would just buy a different battery simply because of the price. If it was half the price I think the value would be there. In any case, food for thought.
