I have several cheap hydroponic kits that come with ridiculously noisy vibrating air pumps. Since my Aerogarden has a water pump, I decided to try it. You won't even be heard. I know they work because I can see the movement of the water and feel a slight vibration when I touch the hydroponic baths. They make less noise than the background hum of a fridge and also the mechanical timer I use for grow lights. How nice! To make the filters, I cut small squares from the tetra bio bag filter I use in my pet fountain and tie them together with rubber bands.
