Thanks to everyone who answered my question about whether the lamp base rotates. As many have said, this question is irrelevant as the mount allows the lamphead to be aimed in any position regardless of mount placement. electrical wiring and are still within reach to make adjustments. Our headboard is relatively short, about 6 inches higher than the mattress, so the lamp head is "right in front of your face". Depending on our ongoing experience with the device, I may move to a different location. All in all, this is a great lamp. Very well made in my opinion with solid construction all round. The gooseneck is particularly impressive and appears to be able to withstand heavy use without damage or excessive wear (I move the lamphead around all the time) for the month or so of use. Lighting is excellent, 3000K color works well (we're switching to 3000K in our lamps when we switch to LED and really appreciate the whiter light and color rendering). The switch is comfortable and unobtrusive. The power supply is very well thought out and invisible in our setup. The attachment could be improved for bedside use by adding a longer gooseneck, but this suggestion is based on our installation. The longer length would add flexibility to the gooseneck when aiming the lamp head in the right place. This is the reason for the 4 star rating and is of course entirely subjective. The gooseneck length is probably more appropriate when the fixture is used to illuminate wall decorations. Seller was great, contacted us to make sure everything was ok. At a time when the customer service experience is experiencing some degradation, having a dedicated salesperson really stands out. Many Thanks.
