Instax Mini 11 vs 9

My daughter got an Instax Mini 11 for her birthday. Her sister also has an Instax Mini 9. Both cameras are very similar, but the 11 is easier to use. You no longer need to set the watch face to the correct lighting mode - it should do this automatically. The 11 also has a selfie mode where you flip out the lens to take better selfie shots. Model 11 also comes with a strap and two accessories to decorate the trigger. I found the quality of the images to be very similar. Some pictures come out great, others don't. We haven't been able to get a good picture with the 11 in selfie mode, both cameras shoot the same film. I wasn't sure if the 9's case would fit the newer model, but it does. I bought a bag that was advertised as fitting the old model but it also fits the new camera. An accessory that can decorate the trigger is useless. Although they provided a small piece of tape to secure it, ours came off within minutes and my daughter eventually gave up. Overall, this new model is easier to use but still very similar to the previous one.

Pros
  • One-Touch Selfie Mode - Mini 11 has a built-in macro mode and selfie mirror for that perfect selfie. You don't need a macro attachment. Simply pull out the lens barrel until the 'Selfie Mode' label appears
Cons
  • Expensive
