I have a green neon dinosaur light. The neon green is bright enough to be seen during the day and bright enough to be used as a night light. The height of the lamp is 11.6 inches at its highest point, from the crown to the base. The light is powered by the included USB cable or 3 x AA batteries. The USB cable is only 40 inches long. I think this is a bit short as the length of the cord limits where the lamp can be placed. I connected the light to a surge protector under my desk (network adapter not included) and the base extends to the top of my desk. The power button is on top of the base, which I like. It's much easier to turn the light on and off with the power switch on top than under the base. The dinosaur was wrapped in bubble wrap in the box, but the white plastic had a few nicks like it had been hit. Transit. I recommend checking for sharp spots when giving this light to a child.
