Clamps hold tray horizontal to floor. Complain that the clamps are difficult to loosen. I've found that clips work really well if you know how to share them. There are no instructions, so the customer has to figure it out. The trick is to push straight on the handle and then rotate the handle forward. Pressing downwards can loosen the clamps. Simple and easy if you do it right. The dustpan does its job perfectly, allowing you to sweep even small dust particles into the dustpan. It feels solid, is easy to handle, and simply tucks away on a nail in the garage wall. What more can you ask for? (Well, it might be nice to get some instructions.) Update. It's been a few months since we bought this shovel. Without double checking the current reviews, I posted the above review to offset some of the negative reviews I read a few months ago while researching the product. Immediately after posting the above review I came back to this point and noticed that many of the previous reviews are no longer available including the one from the guy who said he broke the clips trying to pin them. I don't know why the reviews have disappeared but there aren't any. However, the few existing reviews comment well on the product (with the exception of a single one-star review).
