Very worried about it! And found it very easy to set up. When I turned it on I knew it went through all the filters/membranes as some of the water that came out was black which must have been from the coal being washed off. This lasted about 25 seconds, after which the water at the outlet became clear. I followed the directions and actually let the flush take a little longer than stated (10-15 minutes), I flushed for at least 25 minutes and made sure my water was only "warm". I did several TDS measurements in total; my tap water, "brine", clean water, and made a real day out of it as I'm a picky and curious person. I couldn't believe how bad the salt water readings were! I was even able to determine my water pressure from the chart in the manual; what psi means and was glad to know that I was under the most pressure to give me their quotes that I can get 90 gallons a day but I need a lot less of it. So far I'm VERY happy with this device (if anything changes I'll update my comments). Interestingly, with my TDS meter, my clear water performance drops by 1+ every day, in other words, it's getting cleaner every day! I got this for my orchids, humidifiers, carnivorous plants, etc. AND I AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT! Thank goodness we don't have to lug that many gallons of distilled water out of the store anymore! Love it!
