I, like most of you, saw a long review outlining all the speed issues and the fact that you could get a much more expensive router for $etc. If you want to watch Netflix through a VPN, good luck, Netflix bans all VPNs, no speed will help you. Its VPN speed is around 7-9MB, which is not bad at all for its performance and size. Most hotel chains don't even manage 10MB, and no mobile home exceeds 3MB. First, let me just say that there is NO other router of this size that has the options and features of this router. I was able to reprogram the side switch to enable/disable the VPN. Then I made it so that when the VPN is on the power indicator is on and when the VPN is off the power indicator is off. The level of control with this router is insane and I love it. If you need VPN support for a USB powered micro router, this is by far the best. I've had about 5 different ones and each of them worked, but none of them worked as well as this one. So if you need a micro router that will pull a 0.3A 5V subwoofer for something like a driveable setup, in a hotel or any other place that you need a micro router/AP extender/VPN/ Want to support 5GHZ/physical ports and want them to consume power/footprint as small as possible, this is the only option PERIOD. this router because it is completely overpriced by its post and not worth the price. Because of this post, I've spent a lot of time looking for the best option and every time I've come back to this device after weighing everything I needed.
