I was very excited when I saw the preview of this game. After the purchase I have to say that for the most part it delivers. I've been an RPG fan since Military Madness and Master of Monsters. The cinematic opening is beautifully done and builds up the game's plot perfectly. And a good plot goes a long way to making a good SRPG. You have a variety of characters with different skills and a variety of weapons at your disposal. If you're playing this game on hard mode, you really need to think about your attacking strategy, since characters can get killed, which will affect your team's overall strength. It will also take some time to figure out which weapon to use against the opponent's weapon. The action cutscenes are okay, some are a bit repetitive, but they're still well done and fun to watch. My only gripe is that much of the dialogue between characters in the cutscenes is pointless and I found myself using the skip feature. I also prefer listening to the characters talk than hearing the grunts and "Huh?", "Hmmm", "Uh-huh", "What?" I have to stop laughing at this. Being able to create and customize your own avatar is great. But can you trust your avatar after seeing the home screen? We will see.
