Plugged in the charger yesterday to test. I watched it charge for a few minutes and turned it off. Today I plugged it into the port and found that it doesn't charge. When I took it out, the center pin got stuck in the charger case and wouldn't pop out. Managed to move the pin and pull it out again, put it back in the socket and the same thing happened. I noticed that the pin was pushed back at an angle. I didn't plug it in permanently, I have a GPS charger that I use regularly, so it's not mine and not my car socket. I plugged this charger in twice and that was all it took for it to become completely unusable. Clearly Defective Unit.tldr: Send it back without bothering to try again with that brand. Bought another one off the drugstore shelf for my trip home and it worked fine.
