I needed a smooth chrome plated straight socket to socket connector to install a shower head. Most standard couplers are large, bulky castings, but this one was very slim and low profile. I was expecting it to be a matte rust-free finish that I would have to polish, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was already shiny. The biggest problem, however, is that the threads are not tapered, making it almost impossible to ensure they seal properly. I used a trick I saw on YouTube where you wrap cotton thread around the threads, then teflon tape, then sealant. That seems to have been enough for the time being. If you can find a coupling that looks like this but actually has a tapered NPT thread, get it; Otherwise it seems to work if you take extra steps to seal it.
