My daughter is 13 months old and has been breastfeeding for 6 months. We immediately introduced the utensils and used a different set of forks and spoons which taught her the purpose of the utensils but they didn't work very well. This fork and spoon were great! She knows how to get a good grip and the fork really picks up food. The only negative I can think of is that the metal on the spoon is too hot for my girlfriend when the food hasn't completely cooled, such as when the food is cold.
