Review on Dimmable Microwave Oven Bulb Under Microwave by Adam Cornelison

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great at first, but not for long.

***Update #3*** The replacement I received in the second update below does not work as well as the first replacement. That's under the microwave and above the stove. This lasted 8 months, which is also unacceptable for an LED. Since the exact same one from the original order still works perfectly in my microwave, I can only conclude that the problem is due to excessive heat. Although they are marketed as replacements for incandescent bulbs, in my experience they are not recommended for installation in hot environments such as indoors. B. above the stove. If this is the case for you, you probably have the same problem as me. I like the whiter and brighter light from an LED bulb compared to a traditional bulb so for the cost I can keep using it and therefore replace it more often. Original bought in May 2020, first replacement in January 2021, rejected again on 09/01/21. ***Update #2*** I contacted the seller who is probably based in China and after several email exchanges (they wanted a photo of the broken bulb) luckily they sent 2 new replacement bulbs. I only pointed out that one was bad but they replaced my entire order of 2 bulbs. So now I'm increasing my 2 stars to 4 for great customer service but can't get the full 5 as these bulbs aren't living up to the expected lifespan they should have. Look for reviews that talk about flickering. I don't have this problem as my microwave just turns on and off. It has no dimmer setting. If so, then look for something else and don't complain that this one is flickering. Also, do not rush to throw away the product and shout that it is garbage. Sometimes it takes a little patience, a few emails and you get a replacement. At this price I feel this item will do what it is supposed to do as long as it can last a few years. LEDs are still evolving and the cheap ones are often questionable, although so far I've mostly been lucky. You often get what you pay for and that's what you should expect from any product. Much luck! ***Update #1*** As much as I loved them when I first got them, one of them is now broken. It worked for 7 months which is unacceptable for an LED that should last for years. The one that has gone bad sits under the microwave and doesn't get bright anymore (my microwave only has an on/off setting, so no dimmer function). All individual LEDs still work, but the bulb barely lights up. I'm giving it 2 stars after 7 months of use. —————————— First Review: These bulbs were exactly what I was looking for. They are about the same size as the regular ones I replaced and the base is exactly the same. They went to the microwave oven, which is above the stove. One bulb inside and one below. The light is much brighter and much whiter than the original yellowish bulbs. They don't get hot compared to the originals which were so hot you couldn't touch them. They also use 8 watts of power, up from 30 watts before. So I can leave it on and hardly consume it.
