Your tongue hurts!
I had to constantly adjust my tongue and put my foot in and out - very uncomfortable and I was the right size shoe. I never wear shoes that are too small, size has nothing to do with discomfort. I stopped wearing them after day one - I couldn't train in them!

- My son wears size 8 tennis shoes, bought him a size 8.5 and it was very tight for him.
