It works, but it's quite difficult to manipulate and separate the strands. It may be better to take small strands and comb them. Or it might work better to create highlights further down the hair shaft. In general I found it awkward. Though maybe it's just a learning curve. I've used it and it worked for my purpose, but not without problems.
