Review on Black Finish Yamaha NS-6490 Pair of 3-Way Bookshelf Speakers by Ojasvi Sharma (Ojo) ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expected more from the purchase, but not the worst option.

To be honest, I may not be completely objective. The speakers cost from 6 to 8 thousand, it is difficult for me to judge whether they correspond to their cost. But I expected more. I probably would not have bought it if I could test it in advance. I was ready to pay more for the speakers, but according to reviews, ns-777, ns-555 also have drawbacks, and I was definitely not ready to pay more than 20-30. Now I'm thinking about the next pair of speakers. Probably cheap - never perfect.

Pros
  • Inexpensive. Decent sound for the price.
Cons
  • They sound very average. I measured it with a multimeter - the review from amazon was confirmed, exactly 6 amperes. Medium and high frequencies sound "loud", distinct. But I have two Pioneer speakers of 50 watts each, half the size (4.5 kg each, versus 6 kg for Yamaha), two-way with a phase inverter. They were attached to a class D micro system. Those sound much better on the bottoms. Bass from Yamaha somehow does not sound at all. In general, the overall sound quality is from three to four.
