If you still use screwdrivers etc to hear noise, do yourself a favor and get one. Very sensitive so be careful at first until you get used to where you bump it. The funnel adapter is by far the best part of this kit. I've used it several times to find vacuum leaks, squeaks and squeaks. The old piece of tubing will work, but it's much more sensitive, so you'll have a better chance of detecting the noise. For the price it's crazy not to have it. Worth every dollar on first use. We strongly recommend purchasing a cone adapter kit. At first I wanted to get a regular kit but I'm glad I went ahead and got this one.
