Review on πŸ’§ Transform Your Home Water with Home Master TMAFC ERP Artesian Undersink by Chris Wheeler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy Install, Easy Maintenance, Low Wastewater, Great Taste, Great Customer Service

Home Master TMAFC-ERP Full Contact Artesian Water Reverse Osmosis System is exactly as advertised. I finally decided to replace our old system because of (1) having to change filters every six months (which was always an ordeal), (2) the annual cost of those filters, (3) having a bit of bad taste . (the tank had to be replaced - cleaning didn't help) (4) the ridiculous amount of waste water it produced (originally 3:1 but definitely got worse over time). The Home Master solved each of these problems: (1) yearly filter changes with easy quick disconnects, (2) less expensive filters per year, (3) great tasting water (the old system wasn't artesian so Home Master was an upgrade), 1 :1 for waste water (with passive pump). Other plus points: The Home Master Tank fills up quickly and in my case the outlet pressure is stable. I highly recommend going to the Home Master website for all the details and lots of additional information as well as links to their short installation videos. . I would make it available here, but I want to stay friends with Revane β™₯. The installation booklet that comes with the device is also very clear, but could be improved with better pictures: some of us are visual learners who appreciate diagrams more than (even short) videos. The installation videos are clear enough too, but definitely not professional (I'm a bit of a production nerd). In my case, the installation involved gremlins of old plumbing. After being placated by these little guys with a trip to the hardware store for transition fittings and another hardware run for a new faucet hose (yes I broke it *sigh*), installation was really easy. Those annoying gremlins. I used to avoid adding a pump for efficiency as they were electric. Home Master TMAFC-ERP solved this problem with a simple passive pump: no electrical connection required! No fear of power outages, running pipes, etc. As long as I have water pressure, I have artesian water. The main complaint often reported by consumers relates to the noise this pump makes. I'm aware of two models: the ERP 500 and the ERP 1000. Both devices "click" regularly when water flows through them, and the latter model is significantly worse than the former due to the additional "whistle". I was looking to get a system with an ERP 500 and it really does click at 50+ dB (i.e. loud enough that most people can hear it clearly). In our case, that click is amplified by the need to install the pump in a bracket attached to a wooden panel in an enclosed closet space. Not perfect. Others have tried to solve the problem by stuffing the unit with t-shirts or towels, or by avoiding the Home Master mounting solution altogether (apparently using velcro to attach the pump to the plumbing ;-). My solution included a layer of old memory foam between the mounting bracket and the cabinet wall to reduce vibration transfer and additional memory foam taped around the pump as a silencer (pictured). Not pretty, but basically works (hence the five stars). Despite this, I can still clearly hear it clicking when I'm in the same room. It can also be heard occasionally in adjoining rooms when the doors are open, but it is not (yet) disturbing. For an additional charge, the manufacturer offers to attach sound-insulating material between the pump bracket and the wall. While it would help if they just built it into the device, I suspect anyone who has relied on that piece of rubber (or what it's made of) would be disappointed with the results. In our case, the dampening of the vibration transmission simply wasn't enough to dampen the pump's clicking to a tolerable level. All of this had to be covered up. IMHO the manufacturer would greatly increase its fan base (with higher ratings) if they included a full case with all of their systems, and as a paid option for those who only need a pump. Surely the home master could come up with something better than old t-shirts or towels (or rubber sheets) and an improved fastening system without breaking it. Such an addition would make a great system awesome. UPDATE: It's been a year and I still love this system! So far I've noticed one mistake: the faucet has become loose over time. I contacted the company directly through the customer service system on the website and *same day* they contacted me for the address and sent me a new faucet - no questions asked and absolutely no problems. It was the best customer service experience I've ever had, period. After watching one of their videos on how to adjust a faucet, I was able to fix an existing faucet without replacing it (see photo). I wanted to try this before ordering a replacement but they contacted me before I had a chance to test my theory πŸ˜‡. I changed the filters at the annual change while I was at it. The instructions were crystal clear and the process was painless and quick πŸ˜€. I look forward to many years of service from this unit. ❀️ Thank you Home Master for a great product and great customer service! ❀️ I bought my Home Master honestly and did not engage in the dubious machinations of a paid review.
