Review on Renewed HyperX Cloud Alpha Gaming Headset with Dual Chamber Drivers and Detachable Microphone for PC, PS4, PS4 PRO, Xbox One, and Xbox One S. by Aneta Joanna Siudak ᠌

The quality was generally satisfied, there were minor shortcomings.

I bought some generic molecula headphones for $70 about five years ago, and they've served me well ever since. They both use the same microphone and produce merely adequate audio. Also, I was just given a Razer Kraken X as a gift. Everything seemed fine at first, but when my friend and I started playing, we quickly discovered some issues. In a matter of seconds, he realized that my game's unpleasant sounds were being transferred to him. We spent the entire evening testing this issue and found that the sounds still play even if I disable the microphone in hardware. A standalone Asus Xonar DX, a laptop, and a mobile phone were all used in the testing process. I had to go to the store with the ears and leave without buying what I wanted. Indeed, the identical issue was found in HyperX Cloud Alpha. The location on elderly ears was great, and they sounded decent for the price. I was successful, and afterwards bought a discounted Sennheiser gsp 300 from a different retailer with no problems. It doesn't matter that there will be a two-jack adaptor in the future; the problem will be present in all headphones with a combination jack connection, which is relevant to this narrative. Only if the package includes a USB sound card or the headset is linked to two distinct jacks at once will your conversation partner be safe. We owe a debt of gratitude to the "universality" of today's headsets, which, thanks to this combo jack, can be used with both a phone and a television. What I don't see is why this issue wasn't raised in any of the reviews. You can lessen the effect by turning on acoustic echo cancellation in the sound card's settings, but doing so will also drastically degrade the quality of your voice.

Pros
  • High standard of construction and materials on the outside Feeling at ease
Cons
  • The microphone is of lower quality than that of a cheap headset from even five years ago, and there is an issue with system sounds being duplicated to the interlocutor.
