I teach college level computer art classes via video chat on my laptop, which only has two USB ports. I've been using this device for about three months now and it hasn't let me down. I plugged in my HD camera, microphone, speakers, second screen, drawing tablet, external hard drive, and a free slot that I occasionally use to charge my phone. It has a nice solid build with a metal body so I don't have to worry about damaging it if I have to move somewhere else. All USB 3.0 ports so it has reliable transfer rates for my external hard drive and clean videos from my HD camcorder. If there's a downside, not only does it require you to plug it into your computer's USB port (obviously), you also have to plug it into a power source, but I guess that's to be expected from a seven-port device AND fast charging.
