The quality has gone down.

Nice compact metal case. I had one and wanted to put it next to the computer, first the plastic connector in the USB hole broke. I think the quality has gone down. Otherwise a decent article.

Unreliable connection

Out of the box, the connection was very unreliable and half the time the devices were connected to the network, they didn't stay powered on. Then after a few weeks the connection broke completely. Luckily I have a cheap $10 USB hub that can be used as a temporary solution.

Pros
  • Brilliant done
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Adds noise to USB audio

I mounted it under my cable management desk and it does the job perfectly. I recently installed a USB DAC for audio and ended up with a trill. For example, search for "USB ground loop". When I connected my DAC to the monitor (actually after this hub) the noise was gone. It seems that the power supply from the hub is just pretty noisy.

Works exactly how I needed it.

I teach college level computer art classes via video chat on my laptop, which only has two USB ports. I've been using this device for about three months now and it hasn't let me down. I plugged in my HD camera, microphone, speakers, second screen, drawing tablet, external hard drive, and a free slot that I occasionally use to charge my phone. It has a nice solid build with a metal body so I don't have to worry about damaging it if I have to move somewhere else. All USB 3.0 ports so it has…

Works well so far.: Computers and accessories

I bought this hub to be able to mount it on a desk or wall. After a minor glitch, it looks well put together. I bought this hub to be able to mount it on a table or wall. After a minor glitch, it looks well put together. When it arrived I quickly started testing it. I've been using Hdtune performance evaluation software since the beginning. I got a "read error" from the software on every port I tested. I switched flash drives and the result is the same. I figured it might be a bad cable that…

Well I was happy. suitable for computer accessories and peripherals

Need something to install. And the daisy chain connected the two together and works with my 3 external drives to my iMac. Well, that's how it was. I had one connected to an iMac which was connected to my drives. Yesterday I lost one of the hard drives. No matter what I did, Mac didn't see it. Rebooted hoping to get it back and when the system worked I lost another drive. I connected the two "missing" drives to a second hub, which is daisy-chained to the first. My Mac saw her immediately. Right…
