Review on 🚙 Xprite Aluminum Retro Flag Style Hood Latches for Jeep Wrangler JK JKU 2007-2018 & 2018-2021 Jeep Wrangler JL JLU Gladiator JT by Troy Rotermund

The latches seem pretty strong but I only installed them today. Only time can tell. There is a small protrusion on the latch handle that comes very close to the hood when in the closed position. Comes with 2 rubber pads. One for JK and a thicker one for JL. I used one on the JK because I have one and the latch handle was right in the hood and after 5 minutes of driving you could see it wearing through the paintwork. So, just out of curiosity, I glued a JL-marked rubber to the handle assembly, and she pushed it far enough away from the hood so it wouldn't touch or scratch the paint. Try it and see if it works in your hood too. The nut, located inside next to the headlight, was difficult to access, but I didn't have to remove any parts. I have small hands and was able to reach it. I used a 10mm 1/4" universal socket with an 8-10" extension and it worked with no problems. They look great and really hold the case tight. Autobahn tomorrow, but looks like it won't. Saved the old factory latches for the real thing. Hopefully they keep the life of the jeep. I added another rubber pad labeled JK under the existing rubber pad which was for JL. This pushed the latch away from the hood. It's a lot further than originally. I'll see what's up and let everyone know. updates. 6-1-21. The "stainless steel" hinge pins are junk. They have rusted and I imagine now rust is showing on my fender paint. I hope not, but let's see, I'll post pictures. Still a good solid bar but I downgraded it to 3 stars.
