Review on πŸ”’ Enhanced Kensington ComboSaver K64517US: High-Performance Notebook Lock with Combination Feature by Mark Meyer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Mediocre lock for an expensive Macbook Pro.

I bought this lock from Microcenter (aftermarket and discounted 15.00 so I could keep it) because of Kensington's reputation as a manufacturer of laptop locks. Pros: 1. Cable flex (6ft is fine too, but most laptop locks are that long).2. A rubber ring around the end of the lock reduces the possibility of scratching and tearing off the laptop security lock.3. The unwieldy combo finish feels solid and should incapacitate a non-standard thief. Cons: 1. Many people already express their dislike for bad instructions and bad design, but it really isn't that hard. I think it's tedious and a little difficult to use, especially when it's attached to your prized laptop and you're fumbling around (I've seen the horror of 17-inch MacBook pros suffering from bulges that pop up like a pimple look their side ). 2. The numbers are very difficult to rotate and will not lock. You can have the right combination of numbers, but nothing will happen if they don't line up perfectly, which is a little annoying. 3. The benefit is that you don't have to deal with the keys, but I'm starting to think that a keyed lock is faster and you have less fiddling, which means less movement of the lock = risk of stretching your laptop . I have 30 days to test. this castle. So far I think it's a mediocre lock with a reputable company. Much luck! :)
