More like Elite Atlas Pro 2.

Even though these are 4 star headphones I'm giving them 1 star because Turtle Beach support lied to me. I'm told these are the same headphones as the Pro1, just with an upgraded headband. I had 3 pairs of Elite 1 and they are NOT the same. They are worse in many ways. I have used both the Pro 1 and Pro 2 with the original TAC and 3.5mm amp on Xbox Series X, One X and Alienware PC. In the review, I compare them to the best Pro 1s. The sound profile on them is heavier and more confusing, like the Elite Atlas Pro (perhaps it's the same headset, how little they differ), and the directional sound queues seem less accurate . This has been tested with Window Sonic, Dolby Access and DTS X (my preference) and a stereo decoding amp. In fact, I only enjoy it with Dolby Access at all, so I can tweak the EQ with the app and drop the bass by 4-6dB and boost the mids by 2-4dB. It also affects the quality of directional audio, from disabling game mode to using a custom EQ. It's not bad, but the transition in sound direction isn't as smooth or accurate. The fixed microphone is okay and can be sensitive and punchy, although it's detachable. The Pro 1s were much better in function and form with a vertical swivel and a very flexible boom arm with high quality mic sound with excellent background noise rejection. While the ear cups appear stiffer and cheaper out of the box, the magnetic closure is preferable to the twist closure on the Pro 1. I preferred the old plug-in cable connection at the end of the headset, but the longer braided cable is fine with better built-in controls, although I'm sure the 3.5mm jack is covered in less metal. The PC cable is a nice long braided cable, but the Pro 1 originally came with a USB 7.1 booster. The Pro 2 can only succeed if it fixes a design flaw in the Pro 1's thin headband. Time will tell. Of the 3 sets of Pro 1s, one broke when I put it on, another took it off, and one sat on my head with minimal tension, but overall I'd rather use tape on my Pro 1s. Sure the Pro 2 amp is important, but from what I've been told it shouldn't. DO NOT buy them without an amplifier or software that allows you to adjust the equalizer. I'd recommend skipping them all together as performance is mediocre and only beaten by the Pro 1 at a slightly lower price. x31 (x2), x4, x41 (x2 with a pair still running in 2021), Stealth 600 (Meh), Elite Pro 1 with TAC amp (x3) (RIP), Elite Atlas Pro (Meh) and now this Pro 2s (sighs) and I think it's time to move on. I think next time I'll try Astro or Steel Series.
