For performance reasons, I installed a wired RJ-45 cable between my router in the office and my TV in the living room. Over time, additional devices (such as the Roku set-top box) were connected to my TV, which also benefited from a wired connection. Unlike running any other cable, this device was installed at the end of the cable where the TV was located, converting one port into four additional ports. Much easier (and cheaper) than using multiple RJ-45 cables.
