This Honeywell Insight air purifier is the most expensive I have ever bought. .This model belongs to the latter category. It also doesn't have the ionizer or UV function that some brands have. Insight uses three Hepa-certified filters and a pre-filter that looks like black foam. I bought this air purifier for my basement. It seems to cover the area well. Other reviewers have commented that the noise level is higher than others and I agree. It's not at the level of problems in my opinion, and it's only common at the highest speed levels. I had to unroll the plastic on the hepa filters before running them. It was easy to start initially and all filters were included. Here are the positives of my experience: Certified Hepa filters seem to work better than cleanable Hepa filters. (I wake up with no stuffy nose or coughing). "True" or "certified" Hepa filters are generally rated as more efficient. The automatic function works and all variable speeds also work. The timer offers 2, 4 or 8 hours. the settings. That works too. The light is adjustable and doesn't bother me. It's wearable. There is a recess on the top that serves as a handle. And this device is light. The downside to Honeywell Insight, or any Hepa certified air purifier, is the cost of the filters. can be vacuumed and used longer. Another factor is the cost. Honeywell Insight is significantly more expensive, even with the open box or storage costs. I really like it and would rate Insight higher than Therapure which I like too.
