I have an adjustable bed that is not against the wall, so I needed a small table that can be used at night to put the remote control, my cell phone, etc. It's the perfect size and form for use in front of my dresser, which stays with its back to the wall. One downside is that it sits on the base with a magnet, so it can get lost on impact. But perfect for what I use it for. And good that you can remove the tray and put it on a chest of drawers or a bed. Another downside is that since it's metal, it makes a little noise when I put certain things on it. But any metal table will do. I just use a small stand or mat to muffle the sound.
