Review on Delphi GN10168 Ignition Coil by Richard Cartner

Easy and quick troubleshooting Honda Odyssey

Our 1999 Honda Odyssey with 81,000 miles (yes we've had it since we bought it, we have very low mileage!). On Monday the misfiring started and the check engine light came on. I didn't get to this until Tuesday when I plugged in my OBD scanner and it reported the following codes: P0300 - Random/Multiple Misfire Detected P0301 - Cylinder #1 Misfire Detected P0302 - Cylinder #2 Misfire Detected, P0306 - Cylinder #2 6 misfire detected, P1399 - Googled the codes, found useful information on obd-codes.com and a great <5 minute YouTube video "Honda Odyssey Misfire: Quick Test and Replace Bad Ignition Coil". Did a "drop test" (disconnect each coil pack with engine running, look for one that doesn't affect RPM). Found out that connector number 6 is to blame. I ordered this "Delphi GN10168 Ignition Coil" from Revain on Tuesday evening, it arrived on Thursday and I had it replaced in less than 10 minutes. Now the engine is running smoothly again and I expect that tomorrow (when the wife runs her errands) the Check Engine light will go out again. I think I'll order another coil as a spare, especially since we also have a 2002 Acura CL (with 95,000 miles) that uses the same coil packs. Update 2018: The Odyssey's engine continued to run smoothly and we finally sold the van in April 2018. This coil is therefore also reliable in the long term.
