The layout of the buttons and ports is NOT well thought out like many others, mine came with a bad USB cable

I've been using the portable version of this for many years with no problems. This worked for days until I cloned a drive that failed (disconnected from the computer) and now won't connect to my computer. It tries to connect/disconnect again but doesn't show up in Device Manager. Works with other computers. I'm working with their tech support who replied but didn't read my initial report of what I tried. I may have to try a different device/replacement. UPDATE 1: Others had the same problem, asterisks removed, there is a major firmware issue after using the clone feature. good as a portable Kingswin model. I wanted to say a couple of important points about this CD. The SD reader and the on/off switch must be on the FRONT! Having disc status and a bunch of lightbulbs in the front and everything else in the back makes no sense! Placing it on a table with its back to you spreads the main USB cable and power cable all over the table. The SD card reader and the power button must be at least on top. The SD card reader is also upside down. UPDATE 2: Support suggested trying a different USB cable, I have one of those and it worked! It looks like there is a quality control issue with their USB cables. I would recommend ordering several if purchasing this.
