I have a CJ with ball joints that press into the outer knuckle. On newer vehicles they are pressed into the inner steering knuckle. I believe this was for a later design, but I was able to adapt it to my application. I rented a press (large C-clamp) from a local parts store (free). You are not using any of the rental adapters, just the C-frame and screw jack along with the parts in this kit. Pressing out the ball joints is fairly easy, but my impact wrench didn't have the torque, so I used a long ratchet wrench. Pressing new ones into my impact wrench was a success. I figured it's best not to use an adapter on one end - just put the ball joint through the hole and use a suitable receiving cup on the end of the jack. Pay attention to the installation order as one ball joint will likely require you to put the jack through the hole where the other ball joint enters. And if you are using this on a CJ style knuckle you may need a sander for the sloped receiver cup like I did.
