I was happy to try it but I'm afraid this tool will be returning to Revain. I bought this version from Walabot because it was said to work on a lathe and plaster walls. Unfortunately, this is not entirely true. When examining lathe and plaster walls, the sensor only operates in "expert mode", which displays an almost illegible heatmap-like image, rather than color-coded visual outlines of objects within the wall. This might work well for an expert, but it's utterly useless for a beginner like me. I would need to practice switching between easy and expert mode when inspecting drywall before I get a chance to understand the images in expert mode. So if you do drywall work on a regular basis, this can be a really useful tool that lives up to expectations. If you're working with a combination of drywall, plank, and plaster walls, I think you could get the practice you need to interpret images in expert mode, which looks really helpful once you understand how to read them. But if you're a beginner who just has a lathe and plaster walls to inspect, I suggest looking elsewhere. The deep scan stud sensor, which lets you know when it hits metal or electrical wire and studs, is a much more beginner-friendly tool and costs about a third less.
