Review on πŸŒ€ Optimized Vornado 610DC Energy Smart Medium Air Circulator Fan with Adjustable Speed Control by Sandy Taylor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good, but not what I expected

Not what I expected. If I'd read the specs more closely, I wouldn't have been surprised to find that it's smaller than I expected and that it runs like a laptop with an AC adapter. The problem with the PSU in general is that it takes up space and consumes power even when the fan is off. The great thing about the power supply, to me, is that the long, thin, low-voltage wire to the fan is less intrusive than the 110-volt wire. The fan isn't as powerful as a large fan, but it moves air efficiently without unwanted noise. The fan is great for cooling one or two people from 10 feet away. The speed controller works flawlessly and allows you to choose a compromise between noise and energy consumption and air movement. I'm not shrinking the stars because I didn't expect it; anyway it is very nice. Update after a few days of use: The fan is even better than I imagined. The adjustable setting allows you to direct the airflow to it and set the exact speed needed for the best comfort in temperature and humidity conditions. When the fan is slow enough, it's almost silent but still moves air. The brick power supply, which initially seems strange, can be operated without any problems. I plan to buy more of these.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
