Received a thin oversized pink insert for my LV Surene MM today and then issued a refund believing it was a defective item that had been in production for too long but after playing around with it a bit adjusted and the measurements were accurate. The good thing is that the color is nice and the inner wall pockets are roomy and pleated from top to bottom, which is why I chose this liner. Note, however, that the inner side pockets and outer pockets are flat and therefore mostly unusable for anything thicker than a credit card. Flat pockets aren't the worst, there are many issues with this pad. The main issue I noticed immediately after removing the shipping box was how ridiculously thick the felt is on this item. Slightly thicker than 3 folded credit cards. Add in a few layers of equally thick felt bags and this insert is silly in its absurdity. Also, the top rim (with "handles" and latches) presumably flexes along the felt on the felt, making it thicker than anything that prevents physics from holding on. pulls inward at a pocket that tapers towards the opening. Instead, the whole base wants to contract with the top. This thing took up so much room in my bag due to the thick felt that not all of my items could be put back in the bag without a noticeable bulge. The extra weight is also noticeable. I decided that instead of returning the thing I would take a pair of scissors and remove all the thick flat inner and outer pockets, and the thick ones folded over at the top with a handle and buttons. I left intact only what I liked about this liner, ie main lining with 4 pockets with folds on the walls. It helped a lot. It also gave me a depressing idea of how poorly made this article is. Of course, there was no craftsmanship here to keep. So I decided I can move on. My final cuts were V cuts that removed compressed corners. I may sew or staple the incisions in the future, but for now it's working quite well. In my attached photos you can see the liner in my bag loaded with my stuff after I "remade" it. You will also see beveled corners there. I've also included photos showing the thickness of the closing felt on my bag's thick leather shoulder strap, and a photo of three layers of removed felt pockets covered with three credit cards, which is roughly the thickness of one layer of felt. The three layer image should show how thick this item is only on one side panel of the bag with pockets intact. Regardless, this modified insole will still work for now, but it's still hefty despite having a ton of volume removed from it. 2 stars for the pocket fold. And also. That's it. Bad work.
