This wax warmer is a little too weak, but definitely safer than too strong! I am attaching a picture showing the melt zone in the wax bath after the heater has been running all day for reference. The melted part of the wax does what it's supposed to and definitely adds atmosphere to the room. The cord is a good length and doesn't get hot. I would like the base of this heating pad to have non slip pads as the finished metal surface slides easily over the smooth metal surface we have it on but that's how it is. The backlit "fireplace" display is pretty, and the wood-look paint on the outside of the warm sides won't fool anyone, but it doesn't look fake either. When the heating pad arrived the top was removed. - centered and uneven, but after loosening the base nut just enough to raise the center column I was able to center and align the warmer plate. The nut tightened easily without going too far (which could damage the element or the top shell). All in all, this was a welcome addition to our living room after our old ceramic heater had cracked and become unreliable. The lack of open fire is also a big plus. Once completely cool, simply slide the wax out of the heating bowl with your fingers. My guess is that some users who are having trouble removing the wax have scratched the non-stick top layer of the heater when attempting to remove wax that has not fully cooled, causing permanent damage to the surface. One of my units, the surface is very smooth and the wax doesn't stick at all. We love this heater and will happily use it as long as it lasts.
