This is our companion when we go camping. I plug it into an outlet and I can cook outside and have the same temperature and heat control as at home. We use it both for grilling and for making warm pancakes and french toast in the morning. The pan is also great for making hot sandwiches like grilled cheese. We definitely prefer to cook with it because we know it's ours and it's hygienic. We recently had the opportunity to use it at home during a power outage. Just like camping, we were able to hook it up to power from our generator. We didn't have enough electricity to run our large stove and range, but we were able to use it to cook hot meals. It is very easy to clean as it is a non-stick surface. The side of the grill is raised, the burrs are not big. This makes wiping much easier as there are no intermediate levels to clean up.
