Great idea, I would do the same with pieces of wood and discard it for a different grip. so has several problems. 1) The system is too flexible, it needs to be strengthened. 2) The BIGGEST problem is once you find the Depth from the Edge and install it. You will need pliers on the thumbscrew, but still be very careful or it will still move. a) To solve this problem use 2 clamps next to each hole and check the desired depth. b) Also, what you measure may not match what you install on the fixture. The ruler on the jig is offset by almost 1/16. It may seem like a lot, but if you have a gold pencil at step 1.5, most eyes will see it.
