I've had one of these for years but I got tired of moving them between my computer bag, house and camping gear so just ordered 2 more little ones Tweezers and small tube case make it a handy companion in EVERY situation++ Pinpoint tips could always safely hook and remove any splinter, scratch, etc.++ Strong tips++ No rust, metal fatigue or other signs of wear/aging over years of use Cons: ++ If you have ugly cactus teeth in your skin you will need separate larger pliers to remove them ++ Pretty 'convenient' for chip removal My latest product reinforces my opinion that this product is the best suited , mostly for removing splinters etc. I have n several other types of home/hob by tweezers, and I never considered using them as an alternative due to their small size. However, I'm not really complaining as I bought these tweezers precisely because of their excellent utility for removing splinters. As for my standpoint on the need for pliers, it's worth noting that cactus teeth (like those of the cholla cactus) can be large and deep, and I hope you never experience this for yourself when such teeth dig into your skin, needing them you heavier tools. (e.g. Leatherman pliers) to remove it. These w/b tweezers will then come in handy for the remaining small pieces (oops!).
