Fits the description completely, very satisfying.

Pretty decent lens!
With proper selection of the aperture, it produces a fairly sharp picture. (less than 5.6 I generally advise you not to use it on it, because the sharpness will be MUCH less)
Pretty good bokeh. It is convenient with a wide range of fr, so it is perfect for traveling and for moments when there is no way to carry additional optics with you.
In my opinion, the best option as a staff member in the absence of money for prof. optics. (17-55 2.8 for example.)

Pros

Good picture: sharpness and color reproduction. The stabilizer helps a lot on large fr. Convenient zoom and manual focus rings. Optimal range fr. (In most cases)

Cons

Perhaps only aperture . But this is not a drawback of this model, but its technical feature . :-)) If the camera allows you to raise ISO without much damage to the quality of the pictures, then you can forget about this small minus. Many refer to the plastic mount as a disadvantage, but I believe that this is not so, or not quite so: firstly, it is unlikely that you will remove and install it a thousand times every day for 365 days a year, so you will not be threatened with wear of the mount . secondly, you shouldn’t score with a bayonet mount, so I advise you not to pay attention to this.
