Update to add that I've read some reviews on the Surface itself that said the device is too heavy to use on your lap as a laptop. I can see where that would apply, but in this case it's not a problem. The case provides support and you can use the device with the keyboard connected on your lap like a laptop. I like this cover very much. As advertised, it fits and works perfectly with the Surface keyboard. You can even leave the keyboard on your tablet and just fold it up and close the case. The case closes securely with an elastic band at the top. What I really like is that the material isn't so thick that it prevents the Surface Pen from sticking magnetically to the device like it would without a case. Now the magnetic hold is a little looser as there is a layer of material between the pen and the tablet and I wouldn't leave the pen there when traveling with the Surface or packing it as it can easily detach. . However, when I'm just sitting at home with the Surface, the pen stays attached with no issues. While the mount isn't as strong as a caseless mount, there's some resistance when trying to remove the stylus, so it won't fall off at the slightest touch. The case has a small strap at the top that keeps the pen secure when you need to make sure the pen doesn't go anywhere. So it's the best of both worlds. You can use the magnet function or just put the pen in the elastic holder. To access the micro SD card you have to take the device out of the case, but that wasn't a problem for me as all I had to do was do that. that once insert the card. If you don't regularly eject and reinsert the card, this shouldn't be a problem. All other ports and buttons have full access. You don't need a built-in stand, which is the case, as you can put it down (with or without a keyboard attached) and use the velcro straps on the bottom to keep it in your chosen position. .If I had to make an improvement to the case, I would remove the material that the handle is attached to. But for me it's definitely not a deal breaker. As said above I can continue to use the magnetic mount with no problem and when the material is removed you lose the protection provided by the side of the case. Maybe thinner/different material? This is the only improvement I would make, but I would buy the case again and recommend it even without it.
